Vera Santana is working outside the orbit of Pluto when a massive alien entity, named Oort, swallows them whole. Vera is the only one to survive and finds herself deep inside the alien with captives from other planets. Vera introduces the populace to the disruptive force of music and dance. Vera discovers she has a special connection with Oort just as it turns its attention to consuming the earth.
